The UNESCO assembly refers to the annual gathering of member states of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for contributing to the building of a culture of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development and intercultural dialogue through education, the sciences, culture, communication, and information.

CTMUN 2023 UNESCO committee explores the nuances of cultural heritage, international relationships, and education. The role of partnerships between UNESCO and major museums is significant, especially when it comes to the preservation of cultural heritage in a crisis situation. This committee aims to address various global cultural challenges and issues. How can cultural heritage sites be preserved and protected in the face of natural disasters, armed conflicts, or urban development? How can museums play a role in fostering intercultural dialogue and understanding, promoting tolerance, and combating discrimination and stereotypes? How can museums adapt to the digital age and leverage technology to enhance visitor experiences, improve educational outreach, and increase access to collections and exhibitions?
