Dangerous ideas breed dangerous consequences—and in this era, the consequence could very well be your life.
The once-immutable foundations of the Ancien Régime are fracturing under the weight of revolutionary fervor spreading from the heart of France. The ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity are not just whispers in the streets of Paris—they are a thunderous call to arms against the traditions of monarchy and hereditary rule. The specter of popular sovereignty threatens to tear apart the fabric of European order.
As one of Europe’s most powerful monarchs or nobles, you understand the stakes. Your very way of life hangs in the balance. To allow the contagion of revolution to spread would mean chaos: the crumbling of dynasties, the loss of privilege, and the rise of a mob that knows no restraint. You and your peers have been summoned to a clandestine meeting at a secure location to devise a plan to crush the rebellion in France and ensure the rot of republicanism is stamped out before it grows even further into the continent.
But beware: while all at the table share a common goal, not everyone is your ally. The battlefields of geopolitics are as dangerous as the streets of Paris, and alliances are fleeting. Beneath the veneer of unity lie ambition, rivalry, and self-interest. Who can you truly trust?
The time has come to take a stand. The survival of the old order—and of your own power—depends on the decisions make in this room.
Will you hold the line, or will the revolution consume you too?
