Following a strong political uprising Venezuela has become a major developmental player in South America profiting off of the Cold War. Betancourt has just been elected president of Venezuela and he is determined to bring developmental success to Venezuela. Through its production of steel and oil and its modernized agriculture, Venezuela has become an economic power in the region. Despite the incredible economic growth, the Betancourt admission has been plagued by political unrest and public insurgency. With the growing economic crisis and protests from the public will Venezuela continue its upward trend of development or will the country fall into political chaos?
